Question: is your animal an invertibrae

Yes, definitely! Shipworms are molluscs, like clams or mussels. They do have shells, which shipworms use to burrow, but they don’t have any bones! Cuttlefish do have a “cuttlefish bone”, which you may have seen in bird cages – but this is a modified shell too.

Yes starfish are invertebrates but they are invertebrates that are quite closely related to vertebrates, which is one of the things that makes them very interesting.
